36-year-old Lewis Marten Powter of 6 Orchard Road Cambridgeshire has appeared before Llanelli Magistrates’ Court charged with using unlawful violence and causing damage to property
The court heard that on the 7th of March 2020 at Llangadog, without lawful authority, Powter used violence for the purpose of securing entry into a premises knowing that there was someone present on those premises who was opposed to the said entry Contrary to Section 6(1) and (5) of the Criminal Law Act 1977. Further, the court heard that on the 7th of March 2020 at Llangadog without lawful excuse, Powter damaged the door handle of a Renault motor vehicle intending to destroy or damage such property or being reckless as to whether such property would be destroyed or damaged Contrary to sections 1(1) and 4 of the Criminal Damage Act 1971.
Powter pleaded guilty to both offences.
He was made subject of a community order whereby he must carry out unpaid work for 160 hours within the next twelve months.
Powter was also ordered to pay compensation of £150, a victim surcharge of £90 and costs of £85.
