MID and West AM Helen Mary Jones met with two campaigners from the Women Against State Pension Injustice (WASPI) Llanelli group in the Senedd.
The Plaid Cymru AM met with Ann Gowen and Jane Jones from Llanelli. They are campaigning for 1950s women who have suffered pension injustice because of the unfair way the Westminster’s government implemented changes to the State Pension Age.
Plaid Cymru AM Helen Mary Jones said:
“It was lovely to welcome Ann Gowen and Jane Jones to our Senedd. Plaid Cymru is proud to support the WASPI campaign.
“Boris Johnson’s Westminster Government should provide compensation to those women who have lost out from an ill communicated and ill thought through policy.
“I’ll continue to press the Labour led Welsh Government to make further representations to the Government in London to support of the WASPI campaign.”
On Sunday 8th March at 11am to commemorate International Women’s Day WASPI Llanelli will be at the Emmeline Pankhurst Plaque, Parish Hall, Llanelli to lay some flowers and remember the 1950’s women lost while waiting for their delayed pensions.
The next WASPI Llanelli meeting is at the Thomas Arms 7pm on Tuesday 17th March.
