THE Ambulance service was called to attend an incident on John Street, Llanelli on Tuesday (Oct 8).
Paramedics were in attendance between 1 and 2 pm.
The incident started at approximately 12 pm when an elderly lady fell over and injured herself. Employees from local businesses provided first aid and called for an ambulance to attend.
The local employees and business owners provided the injured lady with their coats and any spare blankets to keep her warm whilst she waited for medical attention.
A paramedic attended approximately 50 minutes after the first call was placed to emergency services. The paramedic provided medical assistance at the scene. An ambulance and their paramedic team arrived approximately 30 minutes later. The paramedic team then took the lady and her husband to the hospital.
The Welsh Ambulance Service was contacted and asked for a comment regarding the delay in attending.
