There has been a large police presence at Carway this evening, Wednesday (Jan 30) including an armed response unit. The ambulance service were also in attendance.
Dyfed-Powys Police tweeted at around 11:47 PM “Road closed on B4317 between Ffoslas and Pontyates – please avoid this area.”
Two local residents who did not wish to be named said that the road had been closed off by a number of police vehicles and that armed officers were dealing with an ‘incident’ which centred around a small silver hatchback car and its occupants. One resident said that she had been asked to return inside her home for her own safety.
The road was reopened just after 1pm and the small silver hatchback was taken away by a police recovery vehicle.
Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We received a report concerning the welfare of a man who was threatening to harm himself at Maes Y Wern, Carway, at 11.30pm yesterday (January 30). The man was arrested on suspicion of breach of a Domestic Violence Protection Order a short while later and was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment.”
