Boost for CYCA as Charity Bash Raises Cash

AROUND 130 guests attended a glittering charity evening in aid of the Carmarthenshire Youth and Children’s Association (CYCA) at the Best Western Diplomat Hotel last Saturday evening.

The evening was a fund raiser for the charity and the event was sponsored by Llanelli Online and Gestamp.

The evening began with a speech from CYCA’s CEO Tracy Pike who spoke about the value of the work the organisation is involved in within the wider community of Carmarthenshire. Tracy thanked her staff for their dedication and support and gave a special thanks to the ‘mentor mums’ who were also guests for the evening.

Tracy was awarded an MBE recently and during the evening she was presented with a bouquet of flowers in gratitude for her work. On the subject of flowers, the function room had been beautifully decorated by Clare’s Flowers of Llanelli. The tables and chairs had also been dressed in rainbow colours and it had all been done free of charge.

Guests were then shown a film made by local PR company Media Solutions 4 U. The film documented the work of the charity, which included emotional  testimonies from some of the service users.

Providing the entertainment for the evening was Radio Carmarthenshire’s Helen Enser Morgan who kept the audience entertained with some lovely songs as well as being the MC along with Reverend Eldon Phillips. Helen was followed on stage by the Simply Red tribute act, Red Mick who kept the guests on the dance floor throughout his set.
