A new bus shelter has been put up on Embankment Road in Morfa today, Sunday (Mar 24).
A number of calls had been made in recent years by councillors and residents regarding the poor state of the old bus shelters.
Sean Rees, Independent Llanelli Town Councillor for the Glanymor Ward said: “A brand new bus shelter has now finally been put up on Embankment Road in New Dock.
“I’ve been happy to play my part in supporting our area on this issue but I want to thank everyone in the community for their involvement in proactively identifying necessary improvements and bringing about change.”
In a 2017 article on Llanelli Online, Councillor Rees highlighted that the bus shelters were in ‘dire need of repair’ and had spoken with the County Council Highway Services Unit.
Councillor Rees added: “We’re all very pleased to see this action has finally being taken. The bus shelters in New Street, Morfa and Marine Street, Seaside still need improving so hopefully they are now next on the list as has been previously promised.”
