Cardigan trip costs Pontyberem man £239

A 35-year-old man from Pontyberem has had to pay a fine and costs totalling £239 for breaking restrictions during the emergency period.

The court heard that on 08.05.2020 at Finch Square, Cardigan, without reasonable excuse, during the emergency period, Peter Christopher Almond of 49 Ffordd Aneurin, Pontyberem left or remained away from the place where he was living, in that he had driven to Cardigan to pick up a friend the previous day. He then returned to Pontyberem, near Llanelli where he had been drinking at his home before then returning his friend. Almond was fined £120.00. and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £34.00. and costs of £85.00.
