Council puts stop on Hendy development

UPDATE: Further to the reports of work taking place at the construction site at Hendy Head of planning Llinos Quelch, said: “The Section 106 agreement has now been signed by all parties and the planning consent was released by the Council yesterday (10th April 2018). An officer will be visiting the site to confirm that works comply with the planning permission.”

Carmarthenshire County Council have asked developers to stop work on a new housing site in Hendy.

Executive board member responsible for planning enforcement, Cllr Philip Hughes, said: “The planning committee resolved to approve a development of eight units on this site in September of last year, however, the permission hasn’t been released as yet due to legal documents (Section 106) still being finalised.

“Planning officers have visited the site following complaints just before Easter. They have found that engineering works have taken place at the access point and have asked developers to stop all works until the Section 106 documents are finalised and a formal decision on the application is released.”
