LONG serving Llanelli Councillor and leader of the Labour Group on the Carmarthenshire County Council, Jeff Edmunds has been elected by his fellow Councillors as Mayor elect of Llanelli Town.
Jeff, who will take up office after the County and community Council elections in May said;
“I feel both honoured and humble in becoming Llanelli town Mayor elect. I was born in Llanelli and have lived here all my life. It gives me great pleasure to be chosen to serve our wonderful town as Mayor and I look forward to positively promoting the town during my term of office.”
Jeff added; “Of course being able to take up the office of Mayor depends upon my being re-elected in May and I would never take my electorate for granted, but hope they will once again give me the chance to serve my ward on the Council in the election.
I would however like to take this opportunity to thank my constituents for their support to date and my fellow town councillors for their encouragement, support and confidence in electing me to the office of Mayor elect of Llanelli Town”.
