THE Jerusalem Chapel in Burry Port was filled to capacity as the Community Friendship Group held their fundraising afternoon on Monday (Mar 4).
All monies raised went towards the Chemotherapy Unit at Prince Phillip Hospital in Llanelli.
A local female artist, Elaine Gillmore, showcased her wonderful voice by singing a number of songs. She has had a long career which has included performing on Cruise Ships all over the world.
A raffle and a buffet of food helped add to the total funds raised on the day.
Not only is the Friendship Group a source of fundraising, but it is also a chance for some people who may be socially excluded from social media to meet new people.
Chairman of Carmarthenshire County Council Mansel Charles was in attendance and gave a speech on the importance of the Community Friendship Group and the work that they do.
