THE name Ryan Giggs is one, which is synonymous with one of the biggest and greatest football teams in the world , Manchester United.

790 appearances, 147 goals for the club and 63 appearances and 12 goals for Wales.

Now the Cardiff born footballer can add Evans and Williams (Albies) to his list of clubs played for, (for one night at least).

On Wednesday evening at Coleg Sir Gar young footballers and their parents and coaches were beaming with excitement as the Man Utd star and Wales manager took to the field to play with the claret and blues.

Mike Bassett who coaches Evans and Williams said: “Ryan played in games with all the youngsters and the players had the time of their lives.

“There were shouts of ‘pass Giggsy’ echoing around the 3G pitch amid encouraging support from the coaches.

Mike who is Chairman of the Junior Section of the club continued: “Ryan was absolutely fantastic, he had time for all the kids, and he scored a few crackers which earned him high fives off his young teammates. He posed for loads of photos and even signed about 20 pairs of boots.

Gareth Hickman, one of the coaches and treasurer of the club said, “As a club we’ve always followed Wales, so it was an honour to have the National Team Manager visit us at Coleg Sir Gar. Ryan was brilliant and it’s an evening I’m sure the children will never forget. It’s our 60th Anniversary this year and Giggsy was quite happy to sign shirts and other items that we will now auction at our celebration evening later in the year”.

Stephen Greene who set up the session was keen to thank the FAW. “Evans & Williams are a fantastic club with over 190 playing members so we’re really thankful to Neil Dymock, Aled Lewis and the FAW for inviting Ryan Giggs to take part in training”.

Johnny Perrott coach of the under 8’s who played for the club for over 20 years said with a smile on his face, “I’ve won league titles and cups with the Albies and this evening is right up there with those victories, the kids had a great time and I managed to megs Giggsy.”

Mike concluded: “Everyone at the club is looking forward to cheering Ryan and the lads this Summer in EURO 2020 because one thing’s for sure now, Giggsy is an Albie!”
