A firm, which specialises in applied research and consultancy in the defence and security industry has been awarded Registered Consultancy status with the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors.
The award follows a review by the CIEHF of the team and their competencies in their areas of work, and that they have the right plans in place to take them forward.
Managing Director of the company Barry Kirby told Llanelli Online: “K Sharp specialises in applied research and consultancy in the defence and security industry, concentrating on the relationship between humans and technology: Human Factors, Psychology, human behavioural analysis, user-centred system design.
“We are a micro-SME, based in Llanelli, Wales, with clients all over the UK. We deliver practical and effective support to projects and product development to ensure the users are not only engaged but delighted with the outcomes.
“Our research projects provide insights into human activity and behaviour as well as ensuring that concept and technology development is fully realised by addressing the needs of current and future users.”
Tina Worthy, CIEHF’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “We’re delighted that we were able to approve K Sharp’s application for Registered Consultancy status.
“They demonstrated a strong commitment to quality service provision and we hope that recognition as a Registered Consultancy will be of as much benefit to them, as their addition to our growing collective human factors expertise is to us.”
Speaking about his pleasure in receiving the award Mr Kirby said: “This award of Registered Consultancy status not only reflects on the hard work and professional competence of the whole K Sharp team in delivering the work we do, but also our commitment to keeping our standards where they belong.
