Mark Williams is World Snooker Champion 2018

CONGRATULATIONS  to newly crowned World Snooker Champion Mark Williams MBE.

He took his third World Snooker Championship title with an 18-16 victory in a dramatic final at the Crucible.

It has been 15 years since he won his last title. Speaking after his victory he said that last year he watched the tournament in a caravan having some beers.

Williams was very emotional as he spoke to the BBC watched by his family. He said that he had seriously considered giving up snooker last year but his wife Joanne had persuaded him to persevere and play on.

Williams became World Champion  in 2000 and 2003 and earned the nickname “The Welsh Potting Machine”.
