ON Wednesday February 20, at 2.00 pm Mudiad Meithrin will launch its new Management Guidelines called ‘Llyfr Mawr Piws’ (Big Purple Book) at Cylch Meithrin Pentrebaen, Cardiff.
The Llyfr Mawr Piws offers detailed information for management committees on all aspects dealing with Cylchoedd Meithrin (Welsh-medium playgroups), as well as providing guidance through a thorough knowledge of how to successfully manage a Cylch Meithrin and childcare provision together with examples of useful templates and forms.
It includes sections that are relevant to the work of the Management Committee and sections that are relevant to the work of Cylch Meithrin (Welsh-medium playgroup) staff.
It also offers guidance on Health and Safety issues, committee responsibilities as well as staffing and financial matters.
The Llyfr Mawr Piws is a lively and practical resource that takes you through all the requirements and business of the Cylch Meithrin, offering current attachments and links to relevant websites.
Committees and staff of the Cylchoedd are encouraged to use this Guide as a starting point for any relevant work, bearing in mind that the local Support Officer can be contacted for further support.

“During a period where Welsh Government National policies such as the Childcare Offer provides opportunities for Cylchoedd Meithrin to enhance their Services and business, we hope that this new resource will provide guidance and support to new and established committees.”
The Llyfr Mawr Piws is also available digitally through Mudiad Meithrin’s intranet to its members, and policies will be updated as necessary.
