NEIL Hamilton, MS for Mid & West Wales, and Leader of UKIP Wales is calling on his constituents to help boost the local economy.
Mr Hamilton is backing a call by Carmarthenshire County Council who want residents to shop local and support market traders.
“As we slowly start to recover from the Covid-19 restrictions, shops and market stalls are welcoming back customers, provided they follow guidelines, and they will need all our help.
“Market traders have been badly hit by the coronavirus pandemic and I am delighted to see measures being taken by Carmarthenshire County Council so that Llanelli and Carmarthen Markets can increase the numbers of shoppers in the halls at one time.
“It is good to see traders back in business and I fully support the council’s call for residents to shop local and use the town markets.
“Just remember, by shopping in your community you will also be helping the local economy which is going to need all the support it can get in the coming months.”
As more stalls re-open, Carmarthenshire County Council continues to support traders to safely get back to business and encourages shoppers to take advantage of what the market has to offer.
Shoppers are being reminded to adhere to the new guidelines when visiting the market and to act responsibly and consider others around them.
