A man who eluded police for weeks after Pendine pensioner Simon Clark was found dead at the Grove Caravan Park appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (Oct 31).
52-year-old Wayne David Baxter Tidy of Caravan 8, Grove Caravan Park was arrested between Marros and Pendine on October 27 and charged with the murder of Mr Clark.
The court heard that on 27/09/2018 at Pendine, Tidy allegedly murdered Simon Clark.
The case was sent for trial under section 51(1) & (2)(a) of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to appear before Swansea Crown Court on 02/11/2018
The court also heard that on 27/10/2018 at Marros Tidy had with him, without good reason or lawful authority, in a public place an article which had a blade or was sharply pointed.
That case was also sent for trial under section 51(3) of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to appear at Swansea Crown Court on 02/11/2018.
Four other people have already been charged with offences in connection with the murder and are currently on remand. They are:
Jeffrey Stephen Ward, aged 40, from Pendine, has been charged with murder.
Linda Mary Rowley, aged 52, from Pendine, has been charged with assisting an offender. (murder)
Kirston Macklin, a 52-year-old man, from Newport, Gwent, has been charged with assisting an offender. (murder)
Julie Louise Harris, aged 46, from Tonypandy, has been charged with assisting an offender. (murder).
