A Pembrey man has admitted dumping his aunt’s waste outside a property over two miles away from her home.

Daniel Lee Anderson, of Ashburnham Road, pleaded guilty to fly tipping when he appeared at Llanelli Magistrates Court recently.
Following a complaint on June 7, 2016, Carmarthenshire County Council enforcement officers, visited a property in George Street in Llanelli and found five blue bags dumped outside.

Examination of their contents led them to a property in Dan Yr Allt, Felinfoel. The owner of the property explained that her 20-year-old nephew, Anderson, who had been living with her at the time, had told her that he and two of his friends would take the waste away. She paid him £50 believing that the waste would be disposed of legally, however it was not.

Anderson was issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) and was informed that failure to pay up would land him in court but despite this warning no payment was received.

He was fined £90 in a prosecution led by the council, and ordered to pay £236.50 in costs and £30 victim surcharge.
The council’s executive board member for public protection, Cllr Philip Davies said: “We will continue to act on the powers we have to clean up Carmarthenshire. Dumping waste outside a person’s home is a blatant disregard for the people living in it as well as the negative environmental impact.”
