SCARLETS captain Ken Owens has said Wales will take confidence from previous narrow defeats against Australia when the two international sides face off today, Saturday (Nov 10) at the Principality Stadium.
It has been 10 years (November 2008) since the Welsh last defeated the Wallabies but recent meetings between the sides has seen close score lines.
Speaking to the BBC Owens said: We tend to get better as the Autumn goes on. We have got to have confidence in our own ability.
“We have been very close to them over the years so we will take confidence from that.”
Alun Wyn Jones captains the home side whilst flanker Michael Hooper will lead the opposition.
Last weekend Wales saw off Scotland 21-10 in a one sided encounter. Australia will look to bounce back from defeat against World Champions New Zealand (37-20).
The referee will be New Zealand’s Ben O’Keeffe.
